The worst toys for girls - sexist, racist and down right wrong!
69Oreo Barbie Doll
What are you thinking?
I think that toy selection says a lot about one's parenting skills. Are you choosing toys just because everyone else has one or are you choosing toys that you think will help your child develop into the best person they can be?
Children, be it humans, chimpanzee or puppies learn through play. Its the parents who are responsible for the child's self image, direction and education not the toy industry or Disney movies. The latest crop of toys for girls from the toy industry seems to say that we as a society value prostitutes and Paris Hilton's over decent human beings. If you yourself are a pole dancer, hooker or party girl and want that life for your child, then by all means buy these ridiculous toys but for people who want something more substantial for their girls, just say no to the toy industry.

It's not just the gender-specific toys, it's parents encouraging little girls to dress "sexy" and use makeup (as early as grade school), while DIScouraging little boys from learning to cook, clean and do laundry. Very sad.
What about those horrible halloween costumes for little girls? I had a hard time finding a decent and appropriate costume for my daughter last year...and she is only three! Unfortunately all society sells to these kids is SEX SEX SEX...it's really pathetic and scary to me. Voted up and useful.

Hi :)
You make some very important points!
I think that parents have to think very carefully about the toys, and children's clothes, that they bring into their homes.
The pregnant doll, with twin babies, I have actually seem. I can't remember if my daughter had one, or my friend's daughter, but it was, in fact, ok ~ educational even.
Pole dancing dolls, and those which look like prostitutes, are real no-nos, though! (Do pole dance dolls really exist!?)
